What are accredited registrars and what do they do?

An accredited RNIDS registrar (AR) is a legal entity or sole proprietor based in Serbia that holds RNIDS authorization to perform registration services for the national .rs and .срб domains.

The accredited registrar is your first and primary point of contact and the company with which you enter into a business relationship. Their role is to handle your domain registration, verify the accuracy of your domain data, manage the payment for your registered domain, and help you maintain its security.

Domain name registration services provided by an accredited registrar include:

  • registering and renewing your domain name
  • changing and updating domain name data to ensure it is always correct and up to date, including changing the registrant (the person or company to whom the domain is registered)
  • transferring your domain name to another accredited registrar if you choose to continue your business relationship elsewhere
  • activating registrant data protection (WHOIS protection) and enabling additional security features for your domain name (DNSSEC, Registry Lock, etc.)

You contact RNIDS directly only if you have a complaint about the registrar’s work, if any of your rights have been denied, or if the registrar is unable to assist you with a specific request.

The fees outlined in the official RNIDS Schedule of Fees are not applicable to end users, i.e. registrants of .rs and .срб domain names, they are the fees charged to accredited registrars by RNIDS for .rs and .срб domain registration services. They are effectively wholesale prices, while the fees paid by the user for registration are a retail price.

Fees for the registration of .rs and .срб domain names by end users are fixed independently by accredited registrars.
