Conference of Co-founders

In accordance with the “bottom-up” model under which RNIDS operates, the key decision-making body of the Foundation is the RNIDS Conference of Co-Founders. Members of the Conference are legal entities registered in the Republic of Serbia, and through representative members the Conference includes representatives of academia, government and non-government organizations, large, small and medium-sized enterprises, professional associations and the media.

Authorized representatives of all co-founders participate in the work of the Conference, whose engagement includes oversight of the operations and development of the Foundation, in accordance with the RNIDS Statute.

As a rule, at the invitation of the President of the Conference, the Conference meets regularly twice a year, in the first and by the end of the last quarter. At the request of the Board of Governors or at the request of 25% of the total number of authorized representatives of the co-founders, the Conference may also meet in extraordinary session. The elective session of the Conference of Co-Founders is held for the purpose of electing members of the Board of Governors, the Chair and/or the Deputy Chair of the Conference.

By the majority of votes of those present, the Conference adopts the annual and term Reports on the Work of the Board of Governors, decides on RNIDS membership in domestic and international organizations, adopts general acts governing the registration of national domains, as well as disputes related to national domains, decides on the disposal of funds and property exceeding 30% of RNIDS’s annual income, and adopts other decisions in accordance with the responsibilities prescribed by the RNIDS Statute.

By a two-thirds majority of votes of those present, the Conference adopts, amends and supplements the provisions of the RNIDS Statute, decides on the termination of co-founder status within RNIDS, decides on the election and dismissal of the Chair and Deputy Chair of the Conference of Co-Founders, and decides on the dismissal of members of the Board of Governors by secret ballot.

Chair and Deputy Chair

The RNIDS Conference of Co-Founders elects from among its members the Chair and the Deputy Chair of the Conference of Co-Founders for a term of two years. These functions are incompatible with the position of a member of the Board of Governors and the Director of RNIDS. The Chair and the Deputy Chair of the Conference of Co-Founders may be elected no more than twice consecutively. The election procedure for the Chair and the Deputy Chair is further defined by the Rules of Procedure of the Conference of Co-Founders.
