The Board of Governors is the highest governing body of RNIDS, and it is elected by the Conference of Co-Founders of RNIDS for a period of three years. The mandate of the Board of Governors lasts three years, and members of the Board of Governors may be elected for a maximum of two consecutive terms. The Board of Governors has seven members, one of whom is the Chair and one the Deputy Chair, elected by the members of the Board of Governors among themselves at the first session following the elections. The Board of Governors makes valid decisions when more than half of the total number of members are present, by majority vote.
The primary task of the Board is to ensure the achievement of the goals of RNIDS as defined by the Statute, to adopt the Strategy, Work Plan and Programme of RNIDS after consultations with the Conference of Co-Founders, to manage risks, and to make decisions on other matters in accordance with laws and RNIDS acts. The Board adopts the Financial Plan and Final Accounts, appoints the internal auditor, decides on the amount of fees related to national domain registration services performed by RNIDS, and grants approval for high-value procurements.
In addition, it decides on the admission of co-founders to the Conference, ensures the implementation of the acts of the Conference of Co-Founders, submits proposals for general acts and amendments to general acts falling within the competencies of the Conference, determines the List of Co-Founders with the right to participate in sessions, and performs other tasks defined by the RNIDS Statute.
Candidates for membership in the Board of Governors may be adult citizens of the Republic of Serbia, with relevant working experience and professional achievements, willing to dedicate their time and skills to achieving the goals and development of RNIDS. A member of the Managing Board cannot be an authorized representative in the Conference of Co-Founders during the mandate.
