Become a Co-Founder of RNIDS
Why Become a Co-Founder of RNIDS
RNIDS is an open organization performing work of public interest, and the role of the Conference is precisely to oversee and guide the work and policies of RNIDS, which impact the quality of service used by registrants of national domains. This is why the participation of the broader community is more than valuable, as it brings new perspectives, represents different interests, and increases the transparency of RNIDS business processes.
The Conference of Co-Founders plays an extremely important role because it:
- elects and oversees the work of the Board of Governors (annual and term reports),
- directs the technical and procedural development of the registry — adopts general acts regulating the registration of national domains and the resolution of domain disputes,
- decides on the disposal of funds and property exceeding 30% of RNIDS’s annual income,
- gains insight into global technical and policy developments related to the evolution of the internet by approving RNIDS membership in international organizations, among other matters.
Who Can Become a Co-Founder and How
All legal entities and entrepreneurs registered in the Republic of Serbia may become co-founders, regardless of size, organizational form, or business activity. A natural person cannot become a co-founder.
If you decide to become a co-founder, you need to fill out and submit an application form, pay the fee (the annual fee is 12,000 RSD + VAT), wait for the Board of Governors to approve the application, then sign the Accession Agreement, after which your company will be registered as a co-founder in the Business Registers Agency (APR). Information about the procedure and requirements for potential co-founders can be found in the Statute of the RNIDS Foundation, and more detailed instructions or the application form can be requested or submitted via e-mail to kancelarija@rnids.rs
Good to Know
A co-founder is obliged to appoint an authorized representative — a person who follows the work between sessions, participates in sessions and discussions, preferably familiar with the topics related to RNIDS’s work and willing to learn the procedures and rules of the registry. According to the RNIDS Statute, RNIDS co-founder status may be terminated based on:
A co-founder may lose its status if it requests it itself (statement of withdrawal), due to violation of the Accession Agreement and non-compliance with the provisions of the Statute, failure to renew the annual fee within the prescribed period, or deletion from the APR.
Multiple related entities that are RNIDS co-founders are considered, for voting purposes, as one RNIDS co-founder, and therefore have one vote during voting.
RNIDS co-founders in the first year after joining do not have the right to vote on amendments to the RNIDS Statute, nor do they have the right to vote in the election or dismissal of members of the Board of Governors.
